| Senior Animal Care Specialist – Kennels July 2, 2010 | The purpose of this position is to provide animal care functions at the Humane Society of Northeast Texas, including evaluating complex animal behaviors, maintaining a safe, clean, and humane kenneling environment, ensuring the Humane Society meets Basic Care Standards for each animal, performing animal examinations or other procedures and euthanasia.
This position is responsible for the daily oversight of the kennel and animal care operations at the Humane Society and will also be responsible for the intake examinations, vaccinations, FELV/FIV testing, Canine Parvovirus testing, etc. The Senior Animal Care Specialist provides leadership in the animal housing areas and works diligently to maintain a safe, efficient and effective work environment.
The work typically is performed under general direction of the Executive Director or his/her designee.
