Pine Tree Elementary student, Tara Story, visited the Humane Society of Northeast Texas recently with a large donation of dog food and a special request. Her school was having a photo and writing contest and Tara wanted to participate by writing a story about the animals at the shelter.

With digital camera in hand, Tara spent several minutes photographing and visiting with various dogs and cats. We hope she wins first place for her efforts, but even if she doesn't, Tara is a big winner with us for speaking on behalf of unwanted, neglected, and abused animals. Thanks, Tara!
