The Humane Society of Northeast Texas, Got Paws, and Partnership For Pets invite you to a "Tailgate Party" at Petco on Saturday, February 2nd, from 10 am to 3 pm. A variety of happy pets looking for new homes will be available for adoption in the Humane Society?s new Waggin? Wheels Adoption Trailer. Enjoy free snacks and drinks while visiting with a furry friend. Look for the Waggin' Wheels Adoption Trailer in the Petco parking lot on Loop 281 in Longview.

?We?re always eager to find more ways to increase pet adoptions,? said Humane Society Executive Director, Roxanne Hutson. ?Our new trailer provides added opportunities to unite pets with people who might not otherwise visit our shelter or see them listed on a website. We are also grateful to Petco for promoting pet adoptions and giving us a great location to host this event.?

On Saturday, February 9th, the HSNTx Adoption Trailer will roll into the Atwood's parking lot on Hwy. 31 in Kilgore at 10 am. This is another great opportunity for interested adopters to get a look and a chance to visit with wonderful pets without having to drive to the shelter in Longview. We hope you'll come join the fun!

The Humane Society received over 11,000 animals last year. Tragically, 80% of them were euthanized due to the huge pet overpopulation problem in East Texas. Pet placement groups such as Got Paws and Partnership for Pets are instrumental in finding homes for hundreds of shelter animals each year in addition to the hundreds that are adopted by the public, but responsible pet care, specifically spaying and neutering, is the only way to eliminate the problem.
