Warm Blankets for Cold Noses January 2, 2009

Local teens, Miranda and Lauren (left and center), are assisted by Monica of the Longview Public Library at displaying a couple of the blankets the Teen Advisory Board made and donated to the shelter's pets. Each year the library, with assistance from the teen volunteers, holds a craft program for young children. This year the older group decided they too wanted to get in on the creativity and fun while helping needy animals in the process. They created dozens of warm, soft blankets of various sizes and colors in a matter of a few hours.

If you would like more information about the Teen Advisory Board or the library's craft program, please call Monica at 903-237-1350. For more information about how you can help shelter animals, please call the Humane Society of Northeast Texas at 903-297-2170.
