It's Hot Dog Day at Atwood's in Kilgore, Saturday, April 11th. Support a worthy cause by purchasing a delicious hot dog lunch with your spare change or visiting with an adorable 'hot' dog from the Humane Society of Northeast Texas. The "Waggin' Wheels" Adoption Trailer will be on site with a wide variety of playful, friendly pets eager to make your acquaintance. Play with a puppy, cuddle a kitten, learn responsible pet care tips, or find out if your pet qualifies for free spay/neuter surgery.
The Humane Society of Northeast Texas is a private non-profit animal shelter located in Longview. The shelter is open to the public Monday through Saturday, 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Last year, more than 10,200 animals were brought to the shelter.
"Bringing our pets to adoption events like this is a great way to introduce people to the wonderful animals that come into our shelter," said Roxanne Hutson, Executive Director of the Humane Society. "We also enjoy visiting with the public and explaining the services we provide to East Texas residents."
